Generate a tenancy agreement with 2 -10 tenants (NZ only)

  • Fill in details about your tenancy and tenants and generate a lease that is pre-populated with all of this information.

  • Have your pre-populated tenancy agreement sent straight to your email inbox and send it to your tenants to sign.

  • Add up to 10 tenants to a lease.

  • Store and access your property lease through the Proper app.

To generate a new tenancy agreement with 2 -10 tenants:

  1. Select the Property menu at the bottom of your screen and click on the property that you want to generate a lease for.

  2. Below the title Lease, select Create a new lease and choose the option Add new lease. This will take you through a process of providing details to form a new tenancy agreement.

  3. If your Landlord details are correct, click Next in the top right-hand corner. This will take you to a screen titled Tenant 1. Here the details of one tenant might already be showing. If you need to change these details all you need to do is select the grey pencil symbol next to the Tenant 1 title and click Next once you have done this.

  4. To add another tenant select Add in the top right-hand corner. You can add up to 10 tenants.

  5. If this is the only tenant on your lease, all you need to do is click the blue button that says Next.

  6. Once you have added all of the tenant details to your lease and selected Next you will be taken to a screen titled Lease details. Here you can input all of the details about your lease including the rent amount, how often rent is paid, subletting permissions, and the lease start date.

  7. After this is complete select Review in the top right-hand corner.

  8. You will now be able to see a completed lease with landlord details, tenant details, rent and agreement details. Select Generate agreement to have this tenancy agreement sent to your inbox.

  • Tip: From here, you can sign the agreement and email it to one or all of the tenants to sign. As you need all tenants to sign the same agreement it will work best if only one tenant is sent the agreement so that they can get all signatures. Otherwise, it would be easiest to meet with all tenants and have them sign the agreement then.
